DNA Shearing

The DNA Shearing workflow supports high-throughput genomic DNA fragmentation for PacBio long-read whole genome sequencing applications. Suitable for human, plant and animal whole genome sequencing workflows, the process prepares genomic DNA for HiFi sequencing by generating fragment sizes appropriate for downstream long-read library preparation and sequencing.

The Myra Liquid Handling System automates preparation of up to 96 samples, including sample transfer, replicate generation and configurable shearing mix cycles, reducing hands-on time and improving reproducibility. DNA size assessment, quality control and downstream library preparation are performed separately in accordance with the long-read sequencing workflow.
