Tips

Minimize the frequency of tip replacement with our 384-well rack of 50µL tips. This not only benefits the Myra liquid handler by freeing up deck space for additional plates but also enhances accuracy and precision when handling smaller volumes. Furthermore, it decreases tip retention and provides superior positional accuracy for narrower tube openings.

Calibration

Behold an automated pipetting robot with visual capabilities – a game-changer! Featuring an integrated camera, achieving calibration is as effortless as a single click. Bid farewell to the days of awkwardly peering into a pipetting robot and trying to eyeball the positioning. Now, with the Myra pipetting system, enjoy precise and effortless positioning every time. Plus, you have the convenience of calibrating only the tubes and plates you require in the moment, eliminating the unnecessary calibration of unused components. Setting up and calibrating Myra liquid hander is so straightforward that you can handle it on your own, sparing the expense of hiring a technician for installation or configuration. Say goodbye to the need for shelling out a small fortune for professional assistance!

Pressure Level Sensing

The Myra automated pipette employs pressure sensing as its method for liquid level detection. This innovative approach significantly decreases the likelihood of false readings caused by bubbles or interference from static. Moreover, it offers the added benefit of eliminating the need for costly conductive tips. Furthermore, the system’s head is adept at detecting the levels during aspiration and dispensing, providing invaluable and precise feedback on pipetting performance throughout the entire run.

Deck Space

Reducing the number of SBS positions does not equate to increased limitations; on the contrary, it allows us to cleverly leverage each position, resulting in a compact robot with greater capabilities than larger counterparts. Myra’s automation software empowers you to utilize any position on a plate or block for various purposes, whether as a sample, reagent, mixer, or standard.

In addition to its smart design, the Myra multipurpose block offers versatility for accommodating various tube types. Tube adaptor inserts enable the use of tubes ranging from as small as 0.1 mL to as large as 10 mL bottles. Furthermore, by utilizing the 384-well rack tips, we free up valuable deck space, allowing you to allocate it more efficiently for your consumables.

Myra’s automated pipetting system excels in delivering exceptional precision and accuracy, extending its prowess to volumes as minute as 1 µL (you can verify this in our Specs). Our heads are meticulously designed, manufactured, and subjected to rigorous quality control procedures, adhering to the most stringent standards.

When you pair Myra automated pipette precision and accuracy with the outstanding performance of the Mic qPCR cycler, your expectations for data quality will undergo a remarkable transformation.

Myra FAQ’s

Can Myra load 384 well plates?

Certainly, Myra is intentionally designed to accommodate a wide array of SBS plate types that are commonly employed. This encompasses not only 24, 48, 96, and 384-well plates but also extends to the capability to load a diverse range of specialized plates and tubes, such as those tailored for the Rotor-Gene system, in addition to the standard Mic tubes.

What if Myra doesn't have the consumable type I use?

You need not worry. Simply reach out to our Support team, and we will be more than happy to closely examine the consumable type and profile. In the majority of cases, if the product is compatible in terms of height and adheres to the SBS format, we can readily incorporate it into the list of consumables for Myra.

How often do I need you need to calibrate a Myra?

The Myra features three distinct axes (x, y, and z), each powered by an individual motor equipped with its own encoder. An encoder, despite its fancy name, is essentially a straightforward electronic device responsible for meticulously monitoring motor movements. Consequently, once the initial calibration is set for Myra’s position and height, there is no need for ongoing recalibration.

However, should you wish to verify or fine-tune a position, the onboard camera and an exceedingly user-friendly calibration tool within the software are at your disposal, making the process a breeze.

What purpose does the camera serve?

The camera is a pivotal component, enabling the software to comprehensively survey the deck. This visual capability encompasses identifying the tip type in use (we currently offer two versions), simplifying position calibration with a simple button click, and eliminating the need for awkwardly peering under the hood.

Moreover, we are actively progressing towards leveraging the camera’s potential to verify the presence of necessary items in all deck positions, ensuring smooth operations. Exciting future projects are also on the horizon, including endeavours like enabling Myra to engage in colony picking from a plate.

Can you do extraction or NGS library prep?

Indeed, the Myra Scripting function empowers you to create an array of diverse workflows, catering to both NGS library preparation and nucleic acid extraction. To facilitate these processes, we offer an SBS-sized magnetic station designed to aid in efficient bead clean-up.

Do I need a technician to install the Myra?

Absolutely not. Myra is decidedly a plug-and-play instrument. Installing the liquid handling system is a breeze, taking less than 30 minutes, which includes the time required to configure a run and calibrate all the necessary positions. However, should you encounter any issues, rest assured that our support team will be readily available to assist you.

Is pipette calibration required for the Myra liquid handling robot?

Calibrating a pipetting robot is vital to guaranteeing accurate and precise liquid dispensing. This essential process entails a meticulous adjustment of the robot’s pipette to rectify any potential inaccuracies. Fine-tuning critical parameters such as pipette position, speed, and volume is a key step in achieving optimal performance and dependable results. In laboratory environments, regular calibration is indispensable for upholding data integrity.

For this purpose, the BMS calibration service provides a reliable and convenient solution.
