Infertility is a big problem in our world today as child-bearing is increasingly delayed. The study investigated the correlation between miRNA-320 levels in follicular fluid and the age and BMI of the patient, number of dominant follicles, number of oocytes retrieved, abnormal oocytes and number of fertilized oocytes. Micro-RNA (miRNA) -320 in the follicular fluid was also quantified using Magnetic Induction Cycler (MIC) and compared the two treatment groups (antagonistic and agonistic treatment protocols) as well as the differing grades of embryo quality within the groups. The study proves that miRNA-320 is a good indicator of embryo quality and that using qPCR assay is a reliable and non-invasive way to detect embryo quality.
